The Homecoming Parade and Powderpuff game, both highlights of the year and long awaited events for many CMHS students, have finally happened.
On September 17, the first round of the powderpuff games kicked off with freshman vs. juniors. After a great effort by the freshman team, the game ended with the juniors taking the first victory.
The second game, seniors vs. sophomores, resulted in a senior win. In the game for 3rd place, the freshman and sophomores played each other, and the freshman class pulled off its first win.
The senior powderpuff team played an amazing game and beat the juniors, claiming 1st place in the 2023 powderpuff games. Overall, seniors took first place, juniors took second, freshmen took third, and sophomores took last.
Following this event, Homecoming week took place ending on Friday with the Homecoming parade. The parade started off strong, and although it rained during the parade, everyone still had a great time. Many students rode floats for sports teams or clubs to show off their school spirit, and it was amazing to see all of the floats’ decorations.
On top of the floats, the marching band and the Purple Pazzazz dance team were in the parade. Everyone pushed through the rain and finished the parade, making this an experience that will never be forgotten. Everyone who viewed the parade had a good time collecting candy and watching the parade, and they also got in a little shower as well!
Overall, the ‘23 Homecoming Parade and Powderpuff games were fun times that will continue to be highlights of the school year for many years to come.
