Prom approaches

It will be a “Starry Night” for CM

Prom approaches

Prom season is coming and there is a lot to plan for it. Prom is April 22 at The Commons at Lewis and Clark Community College. Tickets went on sale for juniors and seniors March 23 and cost $35. The theme this year is “Starry Night,” and after prom will be hosted at the high school by the junior parents.

Teachers Angie Neilson and Clarissa Maag plan the dance, which starts with a meeting with the Juniors. Neilson said they start months in advance.

“We start planning prom in early December,” Neilson said.

Maag said the planning process is daunting, but worth it in the end. “It is a lot of work, but it is fun though because we get to help the Juniors be creative in theme, design, and decorations,” she said.

Maag said her favorite part of prom is seeing the kids dress up. “I always enjoy seeing the students dressed to the nines at Prom!”

Neilson said she enjoys planning prom because, “I like seeing what theme the Prom Committee comes up with, and helping make that happen.”
