Allie Lively was a bit nervous this week. She was waiting to see if Washington University in St. Louis was in the cards for her this fall. She got the exciting news a couple days ago: she was accepted into her dream school.

Lively plans to major in art history and archaeology. She is ecstatic to be attending the prestigious Wash U, as the school is known locally. “Since I toured it, I knew it was the school for me, so I was so extremely excited when I found out I got in,” she said.

Lively has a video of her sitting with her mother as she opened the acceptance letter in their home.

Washington University is a selective school and accepts only 16 percent of students who apply. The average GPA of applicants is a 4.15. It has a 7:1 student to faculty ratio and currently has 3000 research projects underway.
