As many of you have noticed, we have a lot of new faces around the school this year. In the math depart this year we have a new teacher that you may have recognized from last year: Miss. Mona Tedder, who teaches algebra and geometry. She was a student teacher of Brittney Clark’s last year.

Tedder graduated from SIUE last December with a major in mathematics, but she didn’t always want to be a math teacher. “I started as a biology major and pre-med, but changed my mind about two years into college,” she said. “I took calculus in college and fell in love with math and decided to change my major to mathematics.”

She absolutely enjoys the students here at CM and how much they’re involved. “I like how perseverant they are. Many students seek extra help and are constantly working to understand the material and not just give up on it. I also love their school spirit!”

She enjoys being a part of the CM family and can’t wait to see where this takes her. “I plan to stay. I loved student teaching here and I am very excited to now be teaching here.”
