Savoring a final season with band

Band is a place where friendships are made, the idea of “teamwork makes the dream work,” and also a person themselves might grow. I have attended five band camps in my years of marching, and boy have they been crazy.

Band has helped me meet many great friends and become a better person. It has shown me what it feels like to be a part of a team, and a pretty big one at that.

I have spent the four past years with other amazing seniors who are literally some of the greatest people I have ever met. I’m sure that they have guided me as much as I have guided them. We’ve worked together from day on of our first year as scared little freshmen in a new environment.

I have loved every moment that band has brought to me, with people of the past and people of the present. With how far I’ve come, I find it hard to believe that it’s almost time to day goodbye to these people for the last time.

We have made many memories from hours on a bus to competitions, or just spending hours on a bus to travel to Washington D.C together as well as Nashville. We’ve had water balloon fights, swim parties, pot lucks, and even many sleep overs.

I am sad to say that this is the last season that we will be able to share together, and I will cherish every moment of it.

Having this season be my last is truly an honor. The students this year have been great, and have made being a section leader fun for me. So, fellow seniors, as it will be said by our class for the last time this year, “Hey band what are we? Motivated motivated, down right dedicated, rough, tough, can’t get enough of that marching stuff. (insert obnoxious huh sound.)
